The Morgan County Emergency Communications Network, Inc., a 501(c)3, charitable nonprofit corporation, was organized on June 30, 2020. MCECN exists to provide last resort communications to the Morgan County, West Virginia community in the event of a significant disaster that eliminates conventional cell, phone, radio and internet communications. 

MCECN organizes, trains and exercises an extended network of amateur radio operators and a sophisticated physical network of repeaters, mobile units, base stations and a dedicated mobile communications center designed for major catastrophes. 

Our system is an integral component of the Morgan County Emergency Operations Center, feeding on-site disaster information into the center and providing reliable, out-of-area communications for first responders, hospitals, the Red Cross, residents and businesses. 

MCECN enjoys a warm relationship with the Morgan County Commission and the county’s first responder community.
